Function of the Chip in Xerox VersaLink C500 Printer:
Toner Level Tracking: The chip monitors the remaining toner in the cartridge and sends alerts when the toner is low or nearly empty.
For Xerox C600 printers, there are two types of chips:
One supports up to 24,000 pages
The other supports up to 42,500 pages
Common Chip-Related Issues:
Error messages such as:
“Incompatible Toner”
“Replace Toner” even when toner is still present
Printing disabled despite toner availability
Causes:
Use of counterfeit or refilled cartridges
Chip damage due to improper handling
